2000 16' Casita Deluxe Travel Trailer
When we said goodbye to the big blue bus build, the Casita was our rebound vehicle. We needed something to camp out of in Baja and wanted a vehicle that allowed us to hide inside and didn’t require a lot of setup time. If the weather turned bad, we could just climb in, shut the door, and sleep soundly.
We got a decent deal on our Casita and they tend to retain their value pretty well. Ours needed a bit of work, but was otherwise ready to go when we picked it up.
Before
The Build
We wanted to minimize the time and money that we spent on building the Casita. After all, it’s a turnkey travel trailer with a propane cook top and water heater as well as a shower and toilet. The plan was to beef up the electrical system, perform any neglected maintenance, and hit the road.
